  • Barnegat Lighthouse State Park

The site of Barnegat Lighthouse on the northern tip of Long Beach Island in Ocean County was regarded as one of the most crucial change of course points for coastal vessels. Vessels bound to and from New York along the New Jersey coastline depended on Barnegat Lighthouse to avoid the shoals extending from the shoreline. The swift currents, shifting sandbars, and the offshore shoals challenged the skills of even the most experienced sailor. The park is included as a maritime site on the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail.

  • Fantasy Island Amusement Park

Thrilling rides, family Casino Arcade, exciting Boardwalk games, free entertainment, an old fashion ice cream parlor, Chef Gator's Grill & Gator's Goodies!

Fantasy Island Amusement Park has been created with a Victorian air that is timeless in its appeal. Z-Brick walkways, oak benches, ornate lamp posts and Tiffany glass chandeliers and panels all come together in a clean, safe family facility that will delight young and old!

  • Thundering Surf Water Park

There's a water attraction for every member of the family. Plus there's the new Kiddie Section that features multi-level interactive play structures with tons of interactives to pull, turn on and off, push and of course slide. Cowabunga Beach has small slides for children under the age of 2 along with larger slides for children up to the age of 10.

  • Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge

The Holgate Unit of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge is located at the southern tip of Long Beach Island. It is miles long, and consists of more than 400 acres of barrier beach, dunes, and tidal saltmarsh. This pristine site is part of Forsythe Refuge's designated Wilderness Area offering visitors seasonal opportunities to observe its remarkable living plant and animal communities. As one of New Jersey's last undeveloped barrier beaches, Holgate is an important and productive area for beach-nesting birds -- including piping plovers. To protect nesting birds from disturbance, Holgate is closed to the public during the breeding season.
